The Chants scored 20 points to tie with Minden for 30th place. O'Neill won the meet with points while Valentine was a close second with points. Cade Svoboda was the lone medal winner for the Chants as he finished second at pounds.

Svoboda recorded three decisions en route to the finals where he lost by major decision to David Fox of O'Neill. It was the second time this season Fox has beaten Svoboda. I am very proud of the way he competed this past weekend. Cade scored a reversal and 2-point nearfall in the third period before giving up a reversal to break a tie.
In his second match he recorded a decision over Justen Hall of Raymond Central to put him in the semifinals and guarantee him a place on the medal stand.
Then, in the semifinals, he scored 5 unanswered points after giving up a takedown in the first period to record a win over Hunter Randles of Madison.
The win moved Cade into the Parade of Champions on Saturday. Clinton O'Neel finished the meet 1 and 2 at and recorded a decision over Dylan Hartline of Fort Calhoun in his first match of the meet. Then he had to wrestle the eventual 4th place finisher in the wrestle backs.
Randy had the honor of coaching all four sons of his former Coach.
Assistant Coaches Tony Lyga and Scott Zurfluh were instrumental in getting the program off to a good start with a new head. They won nine regional titles and finished second twice. The Blugolds won seven state championships and placed second three times. In this year run the Blugolds had 41 of a possible 84 individual conference champions, 57 regional champions, state qualifiers, 89 state place winners and 31 WISAA State Champions. Randy had the great honor of coaching three four-time state champions: Randy was a four-time District 8 coach of the year.
In he was chosen as one of the coaches for the Minnesota-Wisconsin all-star classic wrestling meet. With four children at home, Randy retired from coaching in to spend more time with his family. In he took a job at West Salem High School where he served as athletic director for three years and science teacher until the present. He continued coaching as an assistant until when Trevor entered Aquinas.

For the next four years Randy enjoyed being just a wrestling fan, watching Trevor compete, including three trips to the WIAA state meet and a fourth 08 and third 09 place finish.
When Dobbs returned he decided not to resume coaching and so Dammon continued on as head coach for five more seasons. The team went on to lose to Evansville Albany in the team sectional final.
