Coach Hart on Julia Shuford: Hidalgo has lettered in diving at Capistrano Valley High School for head coach Higginson Patrick for each of the last three years and is heading into her senior season this year. Hidalgo began diving at the age of nine after an injury to her elbow as a gymnast forced her to either quit the sport for two years before returning or to switch to another sport. Hidalgo chose Tech because of its academic reputation related to her major, the dive program and coach, and the swimming and diving team.
